What is a DC:DC Converter?

DC/DC’s are used to reduce your pack voltage to 12 volts so that you can power a vehicle's standard lights, horn, and other accessories. They usually also charge the 12-volt battery and provide a regulated 12-volt output. Essentially, the DC/DC converter serves as a substitute for an alternator in a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle.
